Pregnancy & Birth
Commonsense Childbirth is a remarkable and straightforward book. I devoured it while I was pregnant, and learned so much. It is empowering and educational.
Two Thousand Kisses A Day
Hands down, this is the “guidebook” I choose for every new mom. The author has such a sweet, confident, and helpful perspective. It’s practical and precious.
The Gentle Parent
This one, by the same author, is an extremely quick read, and it just goes a bit deeper into some of the concepts outlined in Two Thousand Kisses A Day. I loved every page.
The Seven Standards of Ecological Breastfeeding
Ecological Breastfeeding may not be feasible for every mom, but when I first learned about it, I felt so set-free and empowered. It’s so valuable to learn what your body is capable of, and how it is designed to work in a perfect dance with your baby’s needs. This is kind of a “Back door” to gentle parenting, as well, because the tenets of Ecological Breastfeeding lead naturally into a responsive, gentle parenting style.
The Arm’s Reach Co-Sleeper Bassinet
The Arm’s Reach Co-sleeper was so great for us when Babygirl was a newborn. We wanted her close, but felt it was safest to have her in her owns sleeping area. (My hubby especially likes lots of pillows!) This was the perfect solution.
How Children Learn
Our girl is still young, so my research into education options is mostly a hobby at this point. But this one is beautiful and eye-opening!
